No way to stop
the confusion.
No way to understand his absence.
I went to find him, but found an empty field, where he was supposed to be.
The world was empty where
he said he would be,
deserted, but for a telephone,
with no one to call.
I called a stranger.
“Go to a meeting next Thursday.”
Too late for me. It was August 21.
Desperate, I
prayed.
“Please God, I don’t believe you are there, but if you are, I need help.” |
